1. Before the countdown ends, look at the lineup on your side AND their side. That should influence your initial movement.
2. Look at the minimap ... often. Watch for both opportunities and problems.
3. Microposition yourself to take advantage of cover, concealment, and angling your armor. A nudge here or there can make a huge difference whether you get spotted or penetrated.
4. Spend your hitpoints wisely ... sometimes it makes sense to take a 250 HP hit for the team if you can deal out 750 in return. Try to keep your hitpoints until the end of the game so you can better influence the outcome.
5. Know your own tank.
6. Shoot tracks ... a LOT. This is major. If he still has a repair kit, you'll make him use it, then shoot his tracks AGAIN.
7. Use bushes properly. Remember the 15 meter rule about bushes. Remember the two view range points on opposing tanks and your own six visibility points.
8. Don't stare down the straw. Don't get so fixated on aiming, especially in sniper mode, that you lose situational awareness. Zoom back out, look around and get a bigger picture of the battle.
9. Prioritize your targets. Not every tank is the same threat. Taking guns out of the battle is usually (not always) the more important priority.
10. Don't hesitate to return to base. Just because you won your flank doesn't mean your team is in the clear for a victory.

Others:
- Keep your barrel hot, don't just wait for the battle to come to you. By that point, you have probably lost the chance to influence the outcome.
- If there's a bush that you like to hide in, there's a good chance an opposing player likes it too. Shoot the bush.
