Metal Wars Campaign

Post by Rubicite » Mon Jun 29, 2020 9:29 am

Starting ELO: 827
Historical win rate (Tier 10): 36.62%

Standard campaign objective: Play as many battles as possible so that individuals can maximize Personal Fame Points to have a better chance of getting a new tank.

CW Update: 30 June 2020

Post by Rubicite » Tue Jun 30, 2020 10:30 am

Last night, we went 3 - 6 (33.3%).

Our ELO dropped to 815 (decreased by 12) and we are currently ranked #85 out of 130 other clans.

16 clan members are in the Alley of Fame with the highest ranked at #1431 (Osseric). This will certainly change over time, but 13 of 16 are currently in the bond category and 10 of 16 are in the running for a reward tank.

Commentary:
We had a good turn out with approximately 20 - 22 people available to play each battle, except for the very last battle when we had 16 people available.

Our strategy of playing two battles per available time period worked out. The only time that we went into the third round of the tournament was the very last set of battles when there would be no conflict with follow-on battles.

Unlike every other CW season or campaign, there are only four time periods instead of five. WG decided to remove the last battle of the night (almost at the last minute, I think).

While not perfect, overall I think this was a successful night of Clan Wars.

CW Update: 1 July 2020

Post by Rubicite » Wed Jul 01, 2020 7:05 pm

Last night, we went 2 - 4 (33%) and for the season, we are 5 -10 (33%).

Our ELO decreased to 807 (-8) and we are currently ranked #61 out of 159. Note: Rankings can change throughout a given day as other clans spend their Clan Fame Points.

20 clan members are in the Alley of Fame, meaning they have completed at least 5 CW battles in this campaign.

Commentary:
Again, we had a good turn out for last night's battles.

We lost the chance to play the final hour of the night, although we had plenty of people signed up. The issue was there are fewer landing provinces in the first and last hours. Those landing provinces filled up before we could apply for a drop. Going forward, we plan to drop for the last hour early in the morning (if there are enough people signed up.)

CW Update: 2 July 2020

Last night, we went 4 - 6 (40%) and for the season, we are now 9 - 16 (36%).

Our ELO decreased to 800 (-7) and we are now currently ranked #90 with 995 Clan Fame Points. This will almost certainly change during the day as some clans above us exchange their Clan Fame Points.

Currently, 24 clan members are in the Alley of Fame, This can change, but 23 of 24 are eligible for bonds although none are eligible to outright buy a Tier 10 premium tank.

Callers (minimum five called battles):
-Ghost: 40% win rate
-Bibbles: 36.4% win rate
-Mirage: 33.3% win rate

Commentary:
For the third night in a row, we had plenty of players available for Clan Wars and had our best night of the campaign with a 40% win rate last night. Hopefully, our win rate will improve as we get back into the groove and do a better job of listening to the caller.

Getting battles in the last hour is proving to be challenging with some tournaments filling up by midnight or 1am or very few in the correct time slot. The clan will continue to monitor these provinces to get the best matches.

Above, we mentioned exchanging Clan Fame Points. This is optional, but they can be exchanged for "Research Points." Research Points can be used to purchase improvements to Clan Fame Points. Note: Clan Fame Points do not impact Personal Fame Points at all. However, Clan Fame Points directly influences the clan standings, therefore the clan bond multiplier.

Currently, the clan has a 5% Clan Fame Point booster for battles.

3 July CW Update

Post by Rubicite » Fri Jul 03, 2020 12:23 pm

Last night, we went 1 - 5 (16.7%) and for the season, we are 10 - 21 (32.2%).

Our ELO fell to 767 (a drop of -33) and we are now currently ranked #96 of 193 other clans. We have 1128 Clan Fame Points.

Currently, we have 27 clan members in the Alley of Fame, led by Stormrider13.

Commentary:
Wednesday night we had our best night of the campaign and last night we had our worst night. We lost to several clans that we should have beaten (and that's why our ELO fell by 33 points in one night).

We continued to have great participation. With one exception, we had 20+ people available to join the teams.

4 July CW Update

Post by Rubicite » Sat Jul 04, 2020 2:19 pm

Last night, we went 3 - 6 (33.3%), with one loss a "low effort" battle. For the season, we are now 13 - 27 (32.5%).

Our ELO declined to 753 (-14) and we are now ranked #80 out of 183 clans.

Right now, we have 29 members in the Alley of Fame, still headed by Stormrider13. Of the 29, 23 are currently eligible for bonds.

Commentary:
Again, our win rate wasn't where we want it to be. Part of that is a "low effort" battle against a very beatable clan.

Generally speaking, our Round 1 battles are against clans about the same ELO as we are. Therefore, at worst, we should win about 50% of those battles and if we think we are significantly BETTER than our ELO, we should win more than 50% of those battles.

In Round 1 battles, so far this campaign, we are 11 - 17, which is a 39.2% win rate.
